Truth be told, I wasn't expecting this to get as dense as it wound up getting. It was a real pain (ugh) to connect all of these nuances together while dissecting them coherently as they kept emerging, but I can't say it wasn't satisfying.
I have at least two other pieces on this movie somewhere in me. I'll probably have a third when I, too, revisit it
you get it. most people i've seen comment on a real pain seem to identify with david, but i relate so deeply to benji. this essay made me cry, because it made me feel understood in the same way the film did. beautifully written
